The National Heart Foundation of Australia has confirmed it will host seven world renowned health experts at its Heart to Heart: From Access to Action conference to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 17 – 19 March 2011.
The conference program which is available at www.heartfoundation2011.org details an exciting line up of eminent speakers from US, Canada, UK, Norway and Australia including Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub. The program spans primary prevention and risk reduction through to treatment and management of cardiovascular disease.
“We have a really exciting range of plenary topics, including the interaction between work and chronic disease, the impact of sedentary behaviors, depression and cardiovascular disease, women and heart disease and the translation of evidence to practice,” said Dr Jennifer Johns, President of the Heart Foundation (Victoria) and Chair of the Conference Committee.
Clinical sessions cover acute coronary syndromes and emergency care, heart failure, hypertension, stroke, risk factor management in primary care, and in utero determinants of heart health. The latest developments in cardiac surgery, imaging technologies and therapeutic devices will also be covered.
